Lovely little project from Colin Ford called the Redacted Series, which features dystopian novels with censored areas, much like you find on old photocopied documents. It’s a clever idea that I imagine would look rather cool on a bookshelf. The books he picked for the series are 1984, A Brave New World and Farenheit 451, which I think are rather great choices.

Since his childhood, Paris artist Junior Jacquet has been fascinated with paper. The sensation of the paper crumpling in his hands and bending to his will inspires him to create new and fascinating forms. “The game of Jenga was possibly designed to be a more contemplative and strategic game. But sliding those blocks out carefully without knocking over the stack is just entirely too fiddly a task to perform. I figured it would be much more fun to just be able to shoot the blocks out with some sort of pistol.”

Imagine your own private luxury swimming pool both isolated from the adjacent rocky ocean beach but also elevated far above it with amazing views out in every direction. This beautiful beachfront house makes the most of its proximity to the water as well as its lofty position on an adjacent hillside.

On the rural coast of Mexico, the Universe House by Tatiana Bilboa is the ultimate getaway home – but is unfortunately not for rent or sale, leaving the lucky owners to relax and vacation whenever they wish. Viewed from above the simple layout is very clear: four living spaces with corner courtyards around the central swimming pool feature.

A combination of cozy and private residential spaces below contrasts sharply with the wide-open vistas available from the common patio pool area above. The house design itself is actually based on an astronomical observatory plan taken to new extremes, replacing the observational core with a dynamic rooftop deck design.

Despite its luxury accomodations and modern layout the simple wood-and-white color scheme, rusticated materials and curved surfaces make this design seem more timeless than particularly modern – relaxing and comfortable in its unpretentious details and decor.

Two magic arrows push your books! The Magnetic Bookends Arrow looks Cool on your bookshelf! “They not only keep your books vertically positioned, but due to their material, shine and provide an amazing wow-effect! When viewed at an angle, the clever use of a mirror effect reveals the word “BOOK” on one of the bookends and an exclamation point on the other! “
